The loss of a Hollywood Icon
25 June 2009 | By jane-wqel in UncategorizedSad news with the passing of Farrah Fawcett today, losing her battle to cancer. And I will admitt I am a fan, I grew up watching “Charlie’s Angels” and followed her career after she left the show.
Farrah was every boys dream girl with her famous bathingsuit poster on their walls and every girl wanted her fantastic hair!! Remember asking your stylist for the Farrah cut…LOL!!
I was so impressed with the acting roles she did after leaving “Charlie’s Angels”, proving she just wasn’t another sex goddess. With the TV movies The Burning Bed, Nazi Hunter: The Beate Klarsfeld Story, Poor Little Rich Girl: The Barbara Hutton Story, Margaret Bourke-White and Small Sacrifices the world took notice of her talent. Farrah recieved a Golden Globe nomitation for best actress for her role in the motion picture “Extremities”. Gorgeous girl from Texas making her mark in the world of the beautiful and famous.
When the icons you grew up with die you feel a part of the history of your life being lost. These are people you watched on TV or in movies and felt a connection with them in some way. You seem to think the will never age and be there for all time. And they will be with the legacy of acting they have left behind.
Farrah will be missed my millions of fans around the world, including me. I send prayers to her family and hope that she is at peace now.
