Yes I became another year old on Sunday, do I feel it….oh no!!  And I hope I never feel my age.  My birthday over the past 6 years hasn’t been something I celebrated much.  My Dad’s birthday was the same day, yes I know very cool and we were always together to celebrate.  Ever since I was little until he died in 2003.  We were very close and this was something that just made our relationship more special as father and daughter.  I miss him everyday, but on July 26th I miss him more.  I know he is with me always and I tell him Happy Birthday every year.

My great friend LeighAnn gave me a party on Saturday night.  Best part she lives across the street so I could have fun and only have to worry about walking home!  There was cornhole  and LeighAnn was the cornhole queen, she is still waiting for her trophey….LOL!!   We had a fire and sat around and just acted silly and had fun.  It was like being at a 7th grade dance though, the women sat around the fire and the men huddled together across the yard on the patio….LOL!!   We kept teasing them about being 7th graders!  Guess they had to get that male bonding in for the night….LOL!!

Thanks for a great night LeighAnn, love ya woman!   Thanks to Jason, Terri and Scott, Cindy, Haleigh, Mandy, Rick and Brent and his family.  It was fun and I enjoyed my night.

On Sunday it was me and Emily for the day.  My guy went to watch the race with his buddies.  I guess there is no competing with NASCAR….LOL!!  Maybe I should’ve dressed in a seethrough jumpsuit with sponsor patches on them and he would’ve stayed home….LOL!!   Emily and I made brownies with chocolate frosting, of course she licked the bowl and ended up with most of it on her face and shirt, but she liked helping me.   And those brownies were for dessert with ice cream on top….YUMO!!

All in all is was an ok birthday.  As to the answer am I wiser…well about some aspects in life I am I feel, but in many ways I feel I still am learning.   So how old do you have to be to stop learning….LOL!!

Mine is wonderful at the moment.   I was working at the fair on Tuesday and a listener, Connie stopped by to say Hello and ask how things in my life were going.   She said her and her friend Sue listen in at work and were hoping my love life was better.   And it is, I am getting married to a wonderful man, John and I have never been this happy in a relationship.  We are talking maybe October or May on getting married.   I was telling Connie how wonderful John is to me and my daughter Emily and that he helps with housework and is old fashioned meaning he opens doors and such and she is like he has to have something wrong with him….LOL!!  Of course he isn’t perfect, but he treats me with respect and love and does the same for my daughter and that is very important.   My little girl adores him, she loves to play basketball and guitar hero with him or just pick on him.   She has her times when she feels a little guilty about having fun without her Dad, but I am explaining to her that it’s ok to be friends with John and her Daddy will always be her Daddy and in her life.  I sometimes wish John had come in my life 20 years ago, but then I wouldn’t have learned the things I have with past relationships, I wouldn’t have my daughter and might not be the person I am today and he might not either.  I kissed a lot of toads to find my prince….LOL!!   So life has a way of working out in the long run.   And I know that from now on my life will be filled with love and happiness and sure there will be times when things aren’t the best, but with a loving man beside me I know I can get through anything.

Last night my little girl and I hung out with our neighbors, Jason and LeighAnn and their girls Hayley and Hayden.  We always have fun with them, but last night was even more entertaining.   First off their dog Jake was getting groomed and trimmed.  Now this is a standard poodle and one big dog and he is only 8 months old!  He was pretty good considering he was getting clipped and trimmed everywhere….LOL!!   And the little girls thought is was fun to see this big dog get a hair cut….LOL!!   After Jakes grooming session we had a fire and just kicked back and relazed.   And of course the girls had to chase Jake around the yard and he was loving it!

I love summer, being able to stay out late and enjoy great friends and relax.  Us adults would watch the kids run and play and catch lightening bugs and wish we were that age again with no cares other than having fun.

I love it and can’t imagine it not being a part of my life.  Was talking to a listener today about my on air name and it is from Lou Reed’s song Sweet Jane.   Love it of course and remember loving from about the time I was 13.   Well Mott The Hoople did a cover and not a bad one at that, love them too!   Big surprise….LOL!!  Here are both versions….enjoy!
